Why does the manufacturer behind your fire alarm matter?
Because the manufacturer shapes how reliably the system performs over its lifetime, how easily it can be serviced, and how well it integrates with the wider building. For anyone responsible for a premises, that makes manufacturer choice a compliance decision, not just a product decision.

What did this look like in practice at Wembley NE03?

And how does the contractor escalate into the manufacturer’s warranty and support chain if a fault cannot be resolved on site?
These are not pedantic distinctions. A contractor with a genuine manufacturer partnership has accountability running in both directions: to the manufacturer for installation quality, and to the client for system performance. That tends to translate into faster fault resolution and fewer repeat call-outs.
Why does manufacturer stability matter?
Because fire and security systems are typically specified with a 10 to 15 year operational life in mind, often longer. A manufacturer with a long-standing market presence, a clear spares and support pipeline, and an established UK distribution network reduces the risk of a system becoming difficult to service or upgrade five or ten years down the line.
